We are excited to announce that we are offering an informative seminar on Autism, hosting a senior teacher from The Son Rise Program of the Autism Treatment Center of America, in Sheffield, Massachusetts. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about Autism as well as tools and techniques that parents can use right away with their children. Learn how this ground breaking program, developed in the mid seventies by parents Barry Neil Kaufman and Samahria Lyte Kaufman for their son, Raun, has helped countless children on the Autism Spectrum, including helping some recover from Autism, including Oscar—see video link below. The Son Rise Program focuses on joining the child in one on one play in the home environment to achieve results far beyond original prognoses, even to complete recovery!
This informative seminar will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and School Auditorium, 167 Palisade Avenue, Bogota, NJ on Thursday October 20, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and will include a question and answer period in which you can get your specific questions addressed; there will also be handouts that will explain further the techniques and tools highlighted in the seminar.
With more than 35 years of experience as a speech and language pathologist, I learned a great deal at this lecture and found the techniques and philosophy useful for developing relationships with all children.
